mmh, not a very nice headline. and actually i'm not at all in a bad mood. well, weatherwise i am. down here in the floody south of germany we had one of the worst summer months ever, i think. august was completely soaked. yak!
and now, as september is ready to start and rock, it's starting to boil again. strange strange weather, must be the climate change. at least we won't get any hurricanes i hope.
i had some real nice things going on the last few days and weeks - the only thing i did not enjoy was the weather (did i mention that before?). there was my birthday the other day and we had a huge gathering at the coq (it's french, meaning cock, hehe) a nice little bar, downtown auxburg. there were loads of people 'cause i've got soooooo many friends. i was very pleased to see them all. thanx for coming, mates...! and thanx for all the presents, of course.
well, and then there's other things do, like reading, researching music and literature, buying stuff, working (just a joke), working for uni (for real), doing some sports once in a while and and and
ah, and yesterday we went to see "charlie and the chocolate factory" by tim burton and it was great, fantastic, trippy, funny and the perfect adaptation of dahl's book (i read it years ago, but i think burton did a bloody good job). i can only recommend it , it's not at all just a film for kids.
let's see if i've got some music tips too!?
mmh, there's always firewater, a band that too few people know, but which is definitely one of my favourite bands. they come from new york, play alternative/indie tunes mixed with klezmer, blues and circus stuff - some songs remind me of tom waits or even eels and beck. the lyrics deal with dark, macabre and ironic topics. as you can see i really do like the band and hereby i want everyone of you to at least check out some songs (my tips: another perfect catastrophe, bad world, anything at all, so long superman, i am the rain) or albums (their latest one is a year old or so and an album full of covers: "songs we should have written" - very nice). do it. do it do it.
no book tip today, but maybe tomorrow.
have a nice day, week, month, year, decade, life. but nevertheless, see you soon somewhere out there...
